Samsung SmartThings App Offers More TV Control Features Than Ever Before
Samsung has released a new feature for its users who would like to lend a hand with the testing of new features.
Through SmartThings Labs, you can try experimental functions in the SmartThings app and provide Samsung engineers with real-time feedback.
As of now, there are eight different experiments one can check out. This includes the universal remote control where you can manage the various home devices that have been connected to the network on one single screen.
The TV Quick Control option enables you to add a TV remote widget to your phone’s notification panel and lock screen. You will also be able to use your phone as a Bluetooth keyboard for your TV and accompanying apps or create virtual switches for your smart devices. There are other features as well, such as a gentle wake up function and the ability to automatically turn off lights and other devices when you leave your home. Though most of this can be achieved with routines, the fact that the app can do it for you comes in handy. Currently, only SmartThings Android app users in the US and South Korea have access to SmartThings Labs.
