The Arlo Q Security Camera is designed to look like a camera. It comes in rounded square edges with a white matte finish and sits on a standing base that you can place on a table or shelf. The camera has a swivel neck, allowing you to adjust or direct its focus in any direction. It also has a magnet underneath its base by which you can attach it to any metal surface.
The Arlo Q has a 1080 HD, 30 fps, 130° field of view, H.264 format camera with 8X digital zoom. With a full color and CMOS image sensor, you will find the videos and pictures from this camera to be clear and crisp.
You need a high-speed internet and Wi-Fi connection to use the Arlo Q. It supports wireless frequencies 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz with N600 Wi-Fi speed, and a 300-feet line of sight. It also has a micro-USB port and is operated by AC power.
The Arlo Q comes with a 2-way audio system (i.e. microphone and speaker) that enables you to have a two-way conversation through the camera and the App. So, in addition to seeing what is currently happening in your home, you can also talk to whoever is at your home – be it family, pets, or an intruder.
The Arlo Q Security Camera weighs 1 pound and measures 4.5 x 6 x 6.9 inches. You can purchase the camera in one or more camera packs. However, the one-pack system comes with the following:

Installation and Setup
You can install and configure the Arlo Q in just a few minutes by following these simple steps:
1. Unpack the camera. Place in your desired location. Plug into a power supply and switch on the power socket.
2. Download the App and follow the instructions on the App.
3. Press Sync on the camera and scan the QR code on the App with the camera. Once the camera is connected and synchronized, you begin to receive live feed pictures on the phone App.
App Control
Downloading and using the Arlo App is free. The App works with iOS, Apple TV, Android, and all compatible web browser. All communications and interactions between the camera and you happen through the App. So, where ever you are, whatever the time, you can receive notifications and alerts on your phone, watch live feeds of events in your home, speak to your home, as well as watch previous recordings of events in your home.
Cloud Storage
Arlo Q’s basic service gives your seven days of free cloud storage for all your video recordings. You can watch past recordings from anywhere, anytime, as well as stream live video from your home. Some Arlo Q service plans offer you Continuous Video Recording (CVR) option that enables you to record all feed from your home 24/7. You can also rewind a recording to review an incident or re live a particular happy moment.
Subscription Plans
In addition to the FREE services which entitles you to connect up to 5 cameras to your account and enjoy seven days rolling cloud storage, there are other paid subscription plans such as Arlo Smart, Arlo Smart Premier, Arlo Smart Elite, Premium Video Add-on, and Continuous Video Recording (CVR) Add-on.
Advanced Motion Detection
The Arlo Q can detect motion and sound using sophisticated technology for up to 50 feet. You can also set up a maximum of three activity zones. This is a paid feature on some cameras, but it is free with the Arlo Q Security Camera. Once motion or sound is detected, email alerts and push notifications are immediately sent to your phone, enabling you to keep abreast with events in and around your home.
Night Vision
This camera exhibits excellent night vision with its 850 nm LEDs and IR cut-off filter that illuminates up to 25 feet, allowing it to detect persons and movement.
Versatile Connectivity
Arlo Q is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Stringify, Google Assistant, IFTTT, and many more.
