Smart Home Battle Between Amazon And Google May Put Alexa Allies At Unease
TP-Link has been enjoying its position as one of the best electric plugs’ manufacturers. It is, however, about to get competition from Amazon. Amazon launched its Alexa-enabled Amazon Smart Plug last month. In addition to this, the company also launched AmazonBasics Microwave, Echo Sub subwoofer, and revamped Echo Plus, Echo Show, and Echo Dot.
Amazon is working hard to create new Alexa devices. The main reason for this is it is vying for the top place against Google and its Google Assistant. As of now, Alexa is leading. As Amazon keeps coming up with new devices, smaller device makers might go out of business, as evidenced by the startup – Nucleus.
Amazon has a long list of developer toolkits that provide help for developers to create Alexa devices.
Those include the new Alexa Gadgets Toolkit, which lets developers build their own accessories for Echo devices, and Alexa Connect Kit, which lets hardware makers more easily connect their products to Alexa. Amazon is also working on improving its sound systems.
TP-Link stated that they provide a number of smart home gadgets to meet the consumer’s requirement. Despite their statement, TP-Link should be worried about Amazon entering the arena.
