Smart Home Hubs For Your Apartment? Amazon Ventures Further Into The Real Estate Market With Apartment Partnerships.
Amazon has been working its way into the real estate market with its smart home devices. Soon enough, Alexa will be able to pay your rent as well.
One of the first steps in that process is a new deal between Zego, a hub that links smart home devices within an apartment and connects the resident to the building’s management and maintenance, as well as a marketplace for local services.
S2 Capital, a national multifamily investment platform, is planning to bring Zego and Amazon smart products to over 30,000 of their apartments.
These units will have an Amazon Echo through which the users will be able to control the smart lights, locks, thermostats, and other appliances in the house. They will also be able to connect with the wall plugs via the Zego app or by using voice commands with Alexa. Users will be able to make calls, play music, interact with Alexa via their Echo devices, and even pay rent and talk to the staff.
Zego is already installed in over 16,000 units. This partnership with S2 and Amazon will make them offer improved operation efficiency and bring their innovation to the masses. The company intends to figure out what the residents and the property managers need and do their best to improve.
