Smart Tech Rocks! Alexa And Ring Save A Trapped Puppy In A Fire.
Smart home devices have been a part and parcel of our lives ever since they became popular. They have also gone one step ahead and saved lives and homes.
A couple in Orlando, Florida, was able to rescue their 5-month-old puppy when their house caught fire — all thanks to myriad smart home devices.
The couple was not at home when they received a Smart Alert mobile notification from Alexa which helped them detect a fire in their home. The smoke detector picked it up. They had also enabled Alexa Guard feature on their Amazon Echo that can pick up sounds like a smoke alarm going off or glass breaking. Once they jumped onto their Alexa App, where they opened their Echo device, from which they could hear the fire noises coming from their home.
The couple dialed 911 for immediate assistance and were just able to get into the house to save their 5-month-old puppy inside. With their Ring Video Doorbell and Floodlight Cam, they could see what was happening in the house. A live footage cast on the phone from the app made it easier to take action. Smart home devices have yet again shown how they can save lives.
