Teaming Up With Sonos Shows Insight Of Ikea’s Plans Of Creating Smarter Products For Your Home
Ikea announced its partnership with Sonos to develop and sell a range of smart speakers in 2017. The Ikea Symfonisk line is all geared up for launch coming August. Variety, Ikea, and Sonos made this joint announcement via a video.
Speculations indicate the speaker might be a bookshelf itself. A perfect combination of furniture and tech – seems right up Ikea’s alley. Sonos worked with Ikea to come up with ways to tuck sound into classic furniture pieces. This partnership takes advantage of Ikea’s experience with furniture and Sonos’ skills with sound. The partnership could well be the beginning of a range of reliable and technologically advanced IKEA products.
Another promising aspect of Symfonisk is that, while technology’s shelf life is a lot shorter than furniture, audio equipment is generally an exception.
Even those speakers and receivers that are years old can still sound great. It could even be used as a way to integrate AI into a home in a natural manner. Sonos has also partnered with Amazon to develop Alexa-based smart speakers. This new partnership between Ikea, Symfonisk, and Sonos could write a new future for the audio and sound market.
