The winners of all the categories and the Highly Commended of 2018 is out now. Google Home Hub was named the Smart Home Product of the Year, mainly thanks to its security and privacy. Sonos One bagged the title of Smart Speaker of the Year because of its third-party Alexa experiences and great sounding speakers. Alexa won the Smart Home Platform of the Year by making its products versatile, secure, and user-friendly.
Home Entertainment Tech of the Year was named the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K.
It’s hard to understate just how much bang Amazon’s dongle gives you for its buck.
Sonos Beam ran close with its smart home soundbar. LIFX received the Smart Lighting Platform of the Year award due to its user-friendly features, easy setup, a great app, and the ability to perform without a hub.
Samsung Frame TV received the Smart Home Design of the Year while the Smart Energy Product of the Year went to Ecobee4. Nest Secure won the Home Security Tech of the Year by coming up with packages that made security smarter and more convenient. While it is a bit expensive, it is worth every penny. Arlo Pro 2 is a great runner-up choice. Vivint Streety app took the Smart Home Innovation of the Year home.
