We Have A Hunch That Alexa’s Newest Feature Could Benefit A Lot Of Users, And Scare A Few Others.
Amazon has quietly rolled out a new option for its users called Alexa Hunches. This was showcased in a few videos shared by Amazon.
Alexa Hunches are an analytical feature for the voice assistant, first announced in 2018, that enables the AI to observe user behavior and look for patterns.
Once the feature is enabled, the voice assistant will be able to suggest schedules of smart home devices that are connected to the system. The assistant learns over time and can also act on behalf of the user. Alexa will complete the actions on its own without any permission from the user.
On the Alexa app, users can check the dashboard to see how much power Alexa-connected devices are using and an estimate of how much they may use in the coming weeks. The feature called Alexa Energy Dashboard was also showcased as part of promotions. It is expected to soon be available to all users. Amazon also launched its new Alexa Guard Plus security system. The subscription to this service is on a monthly basis. The system is designed to detect movements and alert users in case of any suspicious activities. It can also alert human agents capable of calling the police or emergency services.
