What’s Stopping Users From Enjoying The Smart Home Experience On Google Home App?
Google Home app is the one-stop solution to controlling all your smart home devices from a single page. Though there have been recent changes in the app that makes it look and feel better, it does lack a few features. Here is a list of things that would be nice to have on the Google Home app. It would be nice to have alarm and timer controls when there are multiple speakers connected to the same ecosystem. The ability to add better broadcast controls on the app would be a good touch as well. When a broadcasted message is sent from the app, it would not be synchronized across all the speakers at once causing an echo around the house.
Routines are another area that Google has been making great strides in improving.
The most annoying thing about Routines is that they get messed up due to daylight savings time. There is also a lack of complex automation, requiring users to use IFTTT to execute a command containing multiple actions. Other features that are currently not there in the Google Home app are improved device maintenance and the ability to organize devices easily.
