Why Is Google Assistant Not Leading In The Smart Home Race?
A few users believe that they did the wrong thing by migrating their Nest account to a Google Assistant account. About a year back, Google mentioned that it was shutting down the Works with Nest program. Many users who were making use of the program to automate their smart home devices were unable to do so.
If I activated a night scene in the Lutron app — turning off lights and closing shades — the app would also command the thermostat to lower the temperature.
If you do make the change and migrate to a Google Assistant account, you will lose the functionality and not get it back. While the company says they are working on it, it is not likely to be released soon.
The only comfortable way to control your smart home is to request Google Assistant or to set up Google Home Routine. On the other hand, Alexa and even Apple’s HomeKit is working better in this field. Alexa allows the users to control their smart homes if it manages to detect something. While the HomeKit needs a lot of improvement, it does well in this case. If your idea of a truly smart home is for the devices to understand and do what you want without you having to explicitly say it, then Amazon and Apple are more ahead than Google.
