With Rumors Of A Second Generation Smart Speaker Samsung Is Advancing In The Smart Home Race
Samsung revealed plans for its Galaxy Home Smart Speaker with Bixby as the virtual assistant last year. However, the company has not released the price or set a date for it yet. It is likely to be available in black.
A lower price tag would probably mean fewer features and a smaller build compared to the Galaxy Home, which incorporates six built-in speakers, a subwoofer, and eight microphones.
Bixby is targeted to be the major selling point for the customers, which is already available in Samsung’s smartphone line. The company recently joined forces with third-party developers in a bid to be integrated into other services.
The main competitors for Samsung’s Galaxy Home smart speaker would be Apple’s HomePod with Siri, Alexa-powered Amazon’s Echo speakers, and Google Home with Google Assistant. It is likely that we will see more affordable versions of the Galaxy Home after the company considers the options offered by Amazon and Google. Samsung might unveil the product at the Las Vegas tech event.
