You Might Think Amazon’s Alexa Is The Voice Assistant To Beat. But Google Might Have Something To Say About That.
Amazon has come up with as many as 21 different Alexa-based speakers and other smart gadgets over the years. The company has about 70% of the market share. Google, however, recently launched its own affordable model of a smart speaker. Recently, many users are going with Google rather than Amazon’s Alexa.
Like the previous generation Echo Dot, the first Echo Show was too utilitarian in design, especially compared to great-looking Google Assistant-powered smart displays from Lenovo, JBL and now Google itself with the Home Hub.
Amazon added a bigger screen and a better design but is still behind regarding the sleek design of Google smart products. With Google display, your words will appear on the screen to ensure Assistant heard you correctly. Echo Show does not offer that and neither can it play YouTube videos or show you the maps.
Amazon and Google are locked in a battle to determine who would come out the best in this game. AI improvements will help in improving the user experience – a sector Google has terrific experience in.
While Amazon has the lead in the smart home sector with a variety of third-party Alexa gadgets and inbuilt Zigbee radio in Echo Plus, Google’s pulling out all the stops with Google Home Max and its premium speaker audio.
